Paul has left Silas and I here in Berea; we have just visited Thessalonica and Berea. In Thessalonica, our message of salvation was met with some resistance. Granted, some Jews and Greeks accpted the message, but most were hostile. They searched Jasons house for us, and when they could not find us, they took Jason and some other brothers and told the city officials that jason had accepted us into his house, and they put Jason and the others on post bond and let them go.
We preceded to escape out of Thessalonica that night and went to Berea. The people of Berea accepted our message, but when the people of Thessalonica heard what we were doing, the came down and started riots in Berea. Paul was forced to depart to Athens, and Silas and I will soon rejoin him. Fairwell for now!

A Miraculous Escape!!

You will not believe our turn of good luck! Truly the power of God is at work here! Let me tell you what happened to Paul and Silas during their time in jail!
Paul and Silas came back to Lydias house earlier tonight, and They told us of their great escape. Paul says that around midnight they were singing praises to God, and suddenly there was a huge earthquake which knocked down the walls of the prison. The jailer panicked, thinking that all the prisoners had escaped. Paul says that they remained there, and the guard was so amazed that he eventually believed in Jesus Christ and was saved. Paul and Silas went to his house and ate with them. They were then ordered to be released from jail, and Paul told them that they were Roman citizens. The magistrates were shocked, and escorted Paul and Silas out of the jail, when they returned to Lydia's house where they are now.
On the right is a picture one of the guards took right before the earthquake that i managed to stumble upon
Paul and Silas arrested??!!
Another day when we went down to the place of prayer, there was a girl with demons among her telling the future. Paul proceeded to cast the demons out of her, thus angering the girls owners; for he had taken away their means of money. The men reported that Paul and Silas were disturbing the Romans, and I watched in horror as they were severely flogged. Paul and Silas were taken into jail, and I returned to Lydia's house to report what I had witnessed. I will see what happens tomorrow; but I fear that It may be a while before they are released. I will be sure to keep you updated on their status.
A New Friend
On the Sabbath, we all went outside the city and began looking for a place for prayer. We went down to the river, and we all began talking to the women who gathered dye there. One women, named Lydia, was a seller of purple dye. Paul began to talk to her, and the Lord opened up her heart and she accepted Paul's message. We went to her house afterward and continued to converse with her.
The Journey Begins
Greetings! Today Paul and I, along with our other companions, began our travels. we passed through Phyrgia and Galatia yesterday, and went through Mysia and down to Troas. Last night, Paul had a spectacular vision given to him by God. He said that he saw a man of Macedonia standing and begging to him, asking for our help. Paul has confirmed that this vision was from God, and we immediately gathered our belongings and set off. We are currently at sea and are sailing straight for Samothrace. Farewell!

I am Timothy

Hello all! My name is Timothy! To get things started, I figured it would be beneficial for my fellow bloggers to gain some information about me. Let me begin:
I was born in Lystra in Asia Minor. My father was Greek and my mother, Eunice, was Jewish. When Paul and Barnabas came to Lystra on their first missionary journey, my mother and grandmother heard their words and became believers. Paul returned again this year and asked me to join him and Silas on his missionary journeys. I am eagerly anticipating this voyage, as I believe that it will strengthen me spiritually when I travel with Paul and hear his teachings. I believe he has asked me to join him partially because of my knowledge of the scriptures, which I have been studying since I was a mere lad. Well, I am afraid I must depart to begin getting ready for our grand journey. Farewell!
